Synopsis
Seventeen years ago, the immortal human “Ajin” was identified on a battlefield in Africa. The world was in an uproar, but when it became clear that it was no different from humans except that it did not die, it soon became a topic of conversation. One day, while leaving school with a friend, Kei is killed in a car accident, but soon returns to life and discovers that he is Ajin. Kei is pursued by the government and attempts to escape. While a group of government agents moves to capture Kei, an unidentified man, Sato, attempts to approach Kei with an Ajin, Tanaka.
Review
At the center of this story is an immortal called Ajin. It is wonderful that the story can be developed so interestingly in the setting of an immortal. When you think of immortals, you might imagine a superhero-like story, but this comic is quite different. The characters are all somewhat twisted and the black side of humanity is well portrayed. The story is well paced from beginning to end, and the action scenes are especially well described. Even though it is a battle between immortals, you feel a crazy sense of thrill and tension.
