Synopsis

Black and White, two boys who do not know their parents, are living and stealing in Takaramachi, a town where righteousness and the yakuza are prevalent. Then the topic of town redevelopment comes up: the construction of a “children’s castle,” the purpose of which is unclear. As Takaramachi changes, Black and White’s destiny also begins to change.

Review

The story seems to be a battle manga about two bad boys who go on a rampage against the police and yakuza, but it is not such a simple story. Black believes in pure power and White believes in pure heart, and what is seen through them is very “philosophical,” and the way it is perceived varies greatly depending on the reader. It is not a simple and easy-to-understand theme, and combined with the highly artistic and original drawings, those who like easy-to-understand manga may have a hard time accepting it. On the other hand, it is highly recommended for those who like manga that make you think about something.
